Artist Submission Guidelines
S Type Creative is always interested in adding the right artist to our group of talented artists. We expect applicants to have a well developed, distinct and unique style, a passion for their craft, a desire to work hard and experience developing their craft on their own.
The artists of S Type Creative work in partnership with the gallery by promoting the gallery within the community just as the gallery promotes the artist. The artists of S Type Creative are often expected to attend events in the community as well as in the gallery for themselves and other artists to promote a sense of community and assist in sharing your artistic expertise..
We review artist requests once every two weeks in the order they were received. Artwork submitted for review must be accompanied by a request for representation, emails or packages received without a request for representation will not be reviewed. Artwork may be submitted for review in the following way:
Email us a link to your website or a picture sampling of your best work (limit of 4 pictures), along with a request for representation, your artistic resume and contact details. Also include expected retail pricing for your work. On several occasions we may love your work, however, if the pricing does not fit into what we expect in our market we will not accept the work at those prices.
In order to best serve the customers of S Type Creative we do not review artist portfolios or meet with artists in person until we have already reviewed samples and decided we want to see more. Please do not bring your works in, unsolicited, during business hours. Unsolicited portfolios will be refused until correctly submitted according to these guidelines. We do not pay to return portfolios of any kind, a fedex number must be provided to us for return. S Type Creative will not be responsible for any items left at the Gallery including loss or damage.
We represent a variety of artists including: potters, glass blowers, painters, photographers, jewelry designers, candy makers, woodworkers and more. Please look through our website to familiarize yourself with the types of artists we represent. We are continually seeking new artists that fit into our assortment while being different from the existing collection.
We do reply to all requests for representation but due to the large volume of requests we receive, we cannot offer a specific time frame for our reply. It’s easier for us to say ‘No’ quickly than ‘Yes’ quickly; if you haven’t heard from us in more than a month, we have either missed your request or we may be interested in your work but have not had time to contact you yet. In a case like this please feel free to email or contact us again.
If we have previously rejected your work for representation there is no need to contact us again unless you have a body of new work or have substantially changed your style.
